From the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen, halogen
lamps are widely used lighting fixtures. There
a variety of halogen lamps to choose from wall
sconce, recessed lighting, pot lighting, desk
and floor lamps. For instance a bathroom would
benefit from halogen lamps such as a beautiful
faux alabaster band that provides warm, flattering
light for bath and vanity areas, combined with
contemporary orb wall sconce to add a warm glow.
A kitchen would look beautiful with a contemporary
four light pendant chandelier.
Halogen lamps give a brighter whiter beam of
light so when you do use low voltage tungsten
halogen lighting you need less lighting fixtures
overall. Sometimes the light is to bright so you
can install a dimmer switch to ease the glow from
these powerful bulbs.
- Line voltage in the United States is 120
volts. It is the voltage that is supplied to
your home or office.
- Low voltage is less than the supplied voltage.
Getting low voltage to lamps requires that the
supplied electricity (at 120 V) passes through
a transformer to reduce it prior to operating
the lamp.
Halogen lamps use a type of incandescent lamp.
It has a tungsten filament just like a regular
incandescent that you may use in your home, however
the bulb is filled with halogen gas. The halogen
gas in a halogen lamp carries the evaporated tungsten
particles back to the filament and re-deposits
them. This gives the lamp a longer life than regular
A-line incandescent lamps and provides for a cleaner
bulb wall for light to shine through. The bottom
line is that you can benefit greatly with brighter
light and less fixtures to install because of
the powerful filament inside a halogen bulb.
Consider tungsten halogen lamps for your home,
they create a crisp warm light this is perfect
for task lighting. From ceiling fixtures, wall
mounted, torchiere floor and desk lamps halogen
lamps will create the perfect lighting source
for a low cost price.
