Cooper Industries has acquired RSA Lighting,
a privately held company in Chatsworth, Calif.,
that manufactures specification and commercial
grade .
Financial terms weren't disclosed.
RSA Lighting will become part of the firm's Cooper
commercial lighting division, which has a goal
of expanding its architectural product line. RSA
makes architectural ceiling-mounted downlighting
for recessed applications, particularly applicable
for boutique retail and high-end residential uses.
RSA's clients include Banana Republic, Macy's,
Men's Warehouse, Pottery Barn, Bloomingdale's
and Gap.
Cooper Commercial Lighting, based in Peachtree
City, Ga., manufactures fluorescent, incandescent
and HID lighting fixtures for indoor and outdoor
use in homes and commercial buildings. The
division has approximately 6,800 employees working
in 12 facilities worldwide.
Cooper Industries, based in Bermuda and administered
from Houston, makes electrical products and tools
and hardware. Locally, the company runs Cooper
Power Tool in Dayton and Springfield.
